Mawlid Night
Mawlid Night is observed on the 12th night of Rabi al-Awwal, considered the night in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came into the world. It is an occasion to renew love for the Prophet through salawat and the reading of the Sirah.
In 2026, Mawlid Night falls on 2026-08-24. The Hijri equivalent is 11 Rebiülevvel 1448.
What Does This Night Remind Us?
Love for the Prophet is not only the enthusiasm of a single blessed night; it is a daily striving to take his character as an example and to live by his sunnah.
A Small Step for Today
- Set aside time to recite salawat-i sharifa this night.
- Read a short passage from the Sirah (the Prophet's biography).
- Make an intention to bring a sunnah into your life through a small step (greeting, smiling, charity).
- Share the night with your family with rosewater, halva, or simple kandil offerings.
Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, send blessings upon him and greet him with peace. (Surah al-Ahzab 33/56)
