Night of Miraj
The Night of Miraj commemorates the events of Isra and Miraj. The Qur'an relates that the Prophet was taken by night from the Sacred Mosque to the al-Aqsa Mosque, whose surroundings God has blessed.
In 2027, the Night of Miraj is the night joining Monday, 4 January to Tuesday, 5 January. Its Hijri date is 26 Rajab 1448.
What Does This Night Remind Us Of?
Narrations report that the five daily prayers were made obligatory during this journey; in this respect the night reminds us to place prayer back at the centre of life. Instead of claims of special worship or guaranteed reward that have no established source, the emphasis is on prayer, sincere supplication, repentance and gratitude.

- Read the first verse of Surah al-Isra together with its meaning.
- Offer a heartfelt supplication for your family and for all believers.
Glory to Him who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the al-Aqsa Mosque, whose surroundings We have blessed, in order to show him some of Our signs. (Surah al-Isra 17/1)
